Minister Whitney Bell gives the congregation at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Blair the history of the annual Watch Night service on New Year’s Eve. The service has been an African-American tradition since 1862.  

Player of the Year –

BHS junior Gabby Waden was named this week as the 5A volleyball Player of the Year by The State newspaper. Waden, who led the team with 53 aces and 191 blocks, helped the Lady Bengals reach the Lower State championship match and earned All-State honors.  

Cookie Elves –

The Blythewood-Ridgeway-Winnsboro Cookie Elves were at it again this Christmas, preparing trays of homemade cookies for seniors and shut-ins in the three communities.
