Oysters For a Cause

WINNSBORO – Fairfield County Council on Aging’s 5th annual oyster roast fundraiser turned out to be a great success for a great cause once again.

Despite the event being postponed to Feb. 7 due to a forecast of snow, a good crowd turned out to enjoy oysters, a shrimp boil, and corn chowder at AllTemp Comfort Services’ building on Peays Ferry Road in Winnsboro.

In addition to AllTemp, sponsors included Green Energy Biofuel, Renwick’s Lawn Care, Hawthorne Pharmacy, and Porter Gas Service.

“The fundraiser is a longstanding event that raises money for Fairfield Senior Citizens,” said Angie Connor, Director of FCCOA. “We appreciate the support from the community. It’s a great event that benefits our older residents in many ways.”
