Shannon selected for Blitz

ROCK HILL — Fairfield Central standout TyQuarius Shannon took to the statewide stage this past weekend, representing the Griffins in the SC High School Blitz Junior Showcase bowl game.

Shannon

The game, which features many of the top rising juniors in the state, was held Sunday at South Pointe High School. Shannon, a junior who contributes to the Griffin squad as a wide receiver and defensive back, was selected for the showcase following a season defined by explosive playmaking.

Shannon’s 2025 offensive statistics highlight a “big-play” threat every time he touches the ball. On the ground, he turned just nine carries into a staggering 281 yards, averaging 31.2 yards per rush. As a receiver, he hauled in 26 receptions for 559 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 21.5 yards per catch and accounting for nearly 47 yards of offense per game.

Shannon also recorded six tackles, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, proving to be a reliable two-way asset for the Griffins.

Participation in the High School Blitz is considered a significant honor, providing players with additional exposure to college recruiters and the opportunity to compete against the highest level of talent in their graduating class.
