Registration for baseball and softball closes Saturday

WINNSBORO – Just a few days remain to sign up for the diamond. Fairfield County Parks and Recreation’s registration for youth baseball and softball season will officially close on Saturday.

The upcoming season is scheduled to run from March through May, offering a variety of leagues for local youth. Age groups are determined by the child’s age as of May 1st. This year’s offerings include:

  • Co-Ed Tee Ball: 4U and 6U ($20 registration fee)
  • Baseball: Boys Coach Pitch 8U, 10U, and 12U ($40 registration fee)
  • Softball: 8U, 10U, and 12U ($40 registration fee)

According to the recreation department, all registration fees must be paid in full before practices can begin. Registration can be completed online at fairfieldcountysc.myrec.com.

Free Baseball Camp

Before kicking off the new season, the county will host a free baseball camp on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Drawdy Park (702 Eighth St., Winnsboro).
