5th Annual “Got Heart” 5K set for Saturday

WINNSBORO – Lace up your running shoes – Fairfield County Parks and Recreation will host its 5th Annual “Got Heart” 5K Run and 1.5-mile Walk on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Fortune Springs Park.

Designed to promote heart health and overall wellness through its “H.E.A.R.T.” acronym: Healthy Eating, Activity, Resistance Training, the event offers a distance for every fitness level.

The race is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. For those who have not yet signed up, race-day registration will open at 8:30 a.m. at the park. The cost for race-day registration is $35, which includes a commemorative t-shirt.

Participants who have already registered can take advantage of early packet pick-up on Friday, Feb. 27, at the Fitness Center located at 795 5th Street in Winnsboro. Pick-up hours are from 8 to 10 a.m. and again from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Packets will also be available for pick-up at the race site starting at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
