Many of the close to 1,000 folks who attended the $30,000 grand opening of the Palmetto Citizens Amphitheater last week were on their feet, shagging to the Sensational Epics and rocking to The Root Doctors and other groups who entertained on stage during the event.

Keefer elected at MFOCTA

Chris Keefer, Finance and Human Resources Director for the Town of Blythewood, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Municipal Finance Officers, Clerks and Treasurer Association during the MFOCTA’s annual business meeting last month in Spartanburg. Keefer has been employed with the Town a little more than four years.

Fall Festival at Purity Lodge

It was a perfect fall day for annual the Community Harvest Festival at Purity Lodge No. 42 in Ridgeway. The free event featured bounce houses and a big slide for the kids, a grassy outdoor playground and lots of food and activities inside the Lodge.

UMW Queen

Delores Snellgrove was honored last week as the 2017 United Methodist Woman of the Year award. Joining her for the celebration are her son, Will Snellgrove and her granddaughters. “It just doesn’t get any better than this!” Snellgrove said.

Scary Treats

Trunk or Treaters came early and stayed late at LongCreek Church of Christ’s Fall Festival. Kimora McCullough and Logan Lally made their way through the line of car trunks outside the church. Inside was a giant bounce house and lots of sweet treats.

Jane Hannon accepted a proclamation from County Council Chairman Billy Smith in honor of her late husband, Stanley (Skip) Hannon, for his 46 years of service as a firefighter during Monday evening’s Council meeting. With her are sons Stanley, Jr. and Mike, both firefighters like their father.
