Midlands STEM announces expansion of sports facilities

WINNSBORO – The Midlands STEM Charter School Board of Directors has signaled a green light for growth, moving forward with plans to construct new athletic facilities on the school’s campus. The project will include a softball field, a practice baseball field, and a dedicated cross-country trail.

Athletic Director Hugh Collins characterized the expansion as a significant milestone for the Winnsboro-based charter school and its student-athletes.

“This expansion reflects our commitment to strengthening our programs, developing our student-athletes, and investing in the future of Winnsboro,” Collins said. “These facilities are more than construction; they’re an investment in our students, our culture, and the community we proudly serve.”

The new facilities are designed to support the school’s growing athletic department and provide the Mavericks with on-campus venues for training and competition.
